Tiny Projectiles
3D printing custom cross stitch hoops in Portugal

Dreamed Up and Crafted in Portugal.

We believe the tools you use should be just as special as the art you create. We design and craft 3D-printed embroidery hoops that combine modern technology with the care and attention of handmade craftsmanship.

Tiny Projectiles was born out of a simple frustration: spending dozens of hours on a beautiful cross-stitch piece, only to struggle to find a fitting frame to show it off. That's why we set out to design something better that actually matches the vibe of your art. From sweet floral shapes and animal silhouettes to moody gothic tombstones, coffins, bats, and cauldrons, or even mythical designs like Medusa, we love bringing unique ideas to life. Whatever your style, our unique cross-stitch frames feature a diverse range of colors and sizes, alongside an engineered lip to clamp your fabric securely in place.

Thank you for supporting a small creative business. We hope our hoops become a trusted part of your creative journey and inspire many beautiful projects.

The Anatomy of Our Hoops

Special Grip Lip

We designed a special inner lip that physically clamps the fabric tighter between the inner and outer ring. It keeps a better tension on the Aida cloth, ensuring your piece stays flat, and prevents the fabric from snapping out.

Knurled Screw and Nut

We use high-quality stainless steel knurled screws and nuts for easy, painless hand-tightening. Unlike screwless designs, this adjustable setup works perfectly with any fabric thickness and lets us keep our special grip lip. Plus, the exposed metal looks great and makes it easy to swap colors!

Smooth rounded edges of the 3D printed hoop

Rounded Edges

All our hoops feature rounded edges for a nicer look and feel. There are no sharp corners to catch or fray your fabric and threads.

Standard Height

We matched the 10mm (0.4 in) height of traditional wooden hoops. It is the perfect middle ground: deep enough to hold comfortably in your hands and hang easily on a wall, but slim enough to look modern.

Plant-Based Material

For our hoops we use PLA, a stiff, safe, and eco-friendly bioplastic derived from plant starches. It offers good structural rigidity needed for high tension while being slightly flexible to not break easily when adjusting the hoop.
